Ford has again revealed its ambition to capture Indian auto market. In this front Ford has made a breakthrough entry into India’s 5 billion dollar auto market. Ford has launched Aspire CNG to capitalize the Indian fast changing fuel model in India. As everyone knows India is facing a stiff challenge on pollution front. CNG and electric vehicles are good options to switch over to curb this nuisance. But electric vehicles are still to make mark in consumers mind. But CNG vehicles have made its presence felt.
Ford has launched two Aspire CNG variants of its Aspire Sedan in the Indian market – Ambient and Trend Plus . Their price has been kept at Rs 6.27 lakh and Rs 7.12 lakh respectively. The CNG kit has been fitted in a 1.2-liter petrol engine which generates a power of 95 bhp and a peak torque of 120 nm and it has been given a first-in-segment suspension type cylinder which is better for cargo space.
Ford Aspire was given a face lift in October 2018. Where the new three-cylinder motor was introduced in the range. At present, these cars are available in both petrol and diesel variants. Its diesel unit generates 100 PS power and peak torque of 215 Nm. Both engines have a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Also, there is a 6-speed automatic transmission option here. However, they only get in the 1.5-liter petrol engine and that too in titanium variants. These power train generates the power of 123 PS and the torque of 150 Nm.
Ford is offering a standard two year or one-lakh kilometer warranty in the CNG kit Aspire. Customers will need to go for services 0f their CNG kit once every two years or 20,000 kilometers.
FORD claims that Aspire CNG is the only CNG-powered compact sedan in its segment, in which standard two front airbags have been given. Talking about the other features in it, it has incorporated in-built satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and 7-inch touchscreen with Infotainment System, Rear View Camera, Remote Central Locking, Automatic Air Conditioner and Power Windows.
